Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF)

Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion

About / Causes / Treatment

Posterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion (PLIF) is a unique form of fusion in which a degenerative and collapsed disc can be “rebuilt” from a posterior incision. Frequently this is done by insertion of a cage or spacer.

This procedure also helps to relieve nerve pressure when the vertebra has collapsed into the nerve.
